‘Vacuum glass is the glass of the future. I am sure that this innovative product will revolutionize the use of glass in homes and buildings. It can't be otherwise; we have to make a huge leap in sustainability if we want to keep this earth habitable. And BENGglas is the best insulating glass in the world.’
John Creutzberg from Giga-Glas! from Goirle has been in the glass world for a while, more than 27 years already. He is a remarkable entrepreneur who is indifferent to industry organizations and business associations. Drs. is on his card. Drs. Business Economics. He prefers to chart his own course. And successfully. A pioneer also when it comes to imports from China where he has been coming for years and knows the way. ‘I now sound like a woolly figure and not like a glass trader, but I really mean it. We need to do more to reduce heat loss in frames, windows, and glass facades, and BENGglas is the solution for that. We can't do it alone. We ride the waves, but we are too small to change the waves.’
Circle around
On Creutzberg's business card, next to BENGglas, there is also BENGsolar. ‘We have a solution for PV technology integrated into glass, also known as BIPV, and other solutions with solar technology. Currently, a trial is underway in collaboration with the municipality of Groningen for pavement tiles with PV, with the first ones to be installed soon. And with a third product for energy storage, we hope to complete the circle: BENGsolar for generating energy, BENGbatteries for storing energy, and BENGglas for saving it.’
