Flat Light Dome from Cuijk introduces a skylight featuring vacuum glass to the market. The skylight is a hybrid product: a laminated version of BENGglas. The prefab skylight is therefore highly insulated with a minimal thermal insulation value (Ug) of 0.36 W/m2K. Flat Light Dome, a trade name of Heruvent BV, has had the specific glass composition independently tested and assessed by Kenniscentrum Glas and TÜV Rheinland. Watch the video in which TÜV Rheinland performs the ball drop test (from a height of 9 meters) and the pendulum test (with a weight of 50 kg) on the new skylight according to the relevant standards.
Vacuum glass is vacuum-drawn glass equipped with micro-spacers in the cavity. The spacers (pillars) prevent the glass panes from bending against each other. The cavity is very thin, only 0.3 millimeters thick. Unique features:
- has the best possible glass insulation value
- does not experience a decrease (degradation) in insulation value over time
- maintains its insulation value, unlike HR++ glazing, even in horizontal placement (such as in skylights and light streets)
Application Vacuum Glass Skylights
The Flat Light Dome Vacuum Glass Skylights are standard suitable for application on flat and slightly sloped roofs up to 15° roof pitch and can be used in residential and commercial construction. It is always a freestanding version; the minimally recommended space from other objects is 300 millimeters. The vacuum skylight is always equipped with one pane.
