Restoration of national monument ''De Broodbakkery''

Glashandel van Spaendonk makes iconic national monument sustainable with BENG glass

85 years ago, a baker commissioned the construction of one of Tilburg's most striking buildings: the Bakery on Acaciastraat. With its sleek plastered white facade and colorful, geometric patterns, it was a real eye-catcher at the time – and it still is!

Thanks to the application of BENG glass vacuum glass, the monumental character and authentic appearance of this special building are fully preserved. Sustainable and stylish, without compromise.

Sustainability of monumental building in Oosterhout with adhesive bars

Together with Glashandel van Spaendonk, the single glazing of this house has been replaced by BENGglas.

What makes this job extra clever? The adhesive glazing bars! Because the glass is so thin, they seem to touch each other. The result: less hassle with installation, lower costs, and a sleek, authentic appearance.

Oisterwijk becomes a bit greener with BENGglas

In collaboration with Glashandel van Spaendonk, this house in Oisterwijk has made a significant insulation improvement with BENGglas.

The old single glazing (U=5.8) has been replaced one-to-one with super-smart vacuum glass from BENGglas with an insulation value of no less than U=0.40. That's quite an upgrade!

Thanks to the extra thin glass pane, the new glass fit into the existing frames without any hassle. This way, the authentic character of the house is perfectly preserved. Insulating without compromises, that's what we call smart!

Old frames, new performance

In this project, BENGglas was deliberately chosen, and that had everything to do with previous choices at the front of the building. A few years ago, plastic window frames with HR++ glass were installed there. Although that provided better insulation, it did come at the expense of the original appearance of the facade.

On the other sides of the house, a smarter solution has now been chosen. BENGglas fits directly into the existing frames, preserving the character of the building — without having to invest again in new frames.

From old HR glass to today's vacuum insulation

In collaboration with Glashandel van Spaendonk, this house in Tilburg has been significantly improved in terms of insulation. The outdated HR glass with a U-value of 2.8 has been replaced by BENGglas with a U-value of 0.40 — that's more than 6 times better insulation. And it doesn't stop at warmth. BENGglas is thin, fits in the existing frames, and also provides more peace in the house thanks to excellent sound insulation. This makes sustainability very comfortable.

From thermopane to top insulation in Best

You can feel it immediately: less draft, lower heating costs, and more peace in the house. And the best part is: the existing frames could just stay in place.

Looks classic, performs modern

In collaboration with Glashandel van Spaendonk, this building in Tilburg has been fitted with BENG glass with rod division. The appearance has remained as it was — but with a significant upgrade in comfort. Thanks to a U-value of 0.40 and sound insulation up to 36 dB, the insulation has been greatly improved, without it being visible in the appearance.

Close to the airbase, yet surprisingly quiet

This house near the Gilze-Rijen airbase, together with Glashandel van Spaendonk, is equipped with BENG glass for extra sound insulation. You can still hear airplanes, but much less: the vacuum glass reduces noise by up to 36 dB, and with a laminated pane even up to 39 dB. This is noticeably quieter than HR+++ or regular double glazing. And because BENG glass is only 8.3 mm thick, the existing window frames could remain. This way, you benefit from peace, better insulation (U=0.40), and a lower energy bill — without major renovations.

Monumental on the outside, future-proof on the inside

Together with Glashandel van Spaendonk, this national monument in Den Hout received a significant upgrade. The old single glazing was replaced with BENG glass — without losing the authentic appearance. By slightly deepening the rebates, the new glass fit perfectly and absorption strips and sealing edges remain out of sight.

On the sheltered side, a ventilation grille was installed for extra fresh air, without compromising on comfort. A sleek delivery and a monument that can withstand the test of time for years to come.

Division of red and top insulation? It's possible with BENGglas

Together with Glashandel Van Spaendonk, this house has been tackled from top to bottom. Downstairs, the existing window frames were retained, while upstairs they were completely renewed — with muntin bars. Everywhere, the old single glazing (U=5.80) has been replaced by BENG glass (U=0.40). The result: much better insulation, lower heating costs, and that familiar appearance has simply remained.
