Monumental farm, ready for the future
In collaboration with Donker Schilders en Decorateurs, this beautiful farmhouse in Brunstinge has been fitted with BENG glass. The old single glazing (U=5.80) was replaced with super insulating vacuum glass with a U-value of 0.40. The authentic window frames could remain in place, while both comfort and energy efficiency significantly improved. Exactly how you want it with such a characteristic property.
Maximum insulation, in every form
Together with Van Dam Glas & Montage and C&M Schilders, this house has been fitted with vacuum glass in special shapes. Think of arches and slanted panes — perfectly fitting in existing frames. Thanks to BENGglas, the residents now benefit from top insulation, without having to change anything about the original appearance.
Sustainability of Brick Factory Wageningen with BENGglas
During the renovation of 'The Brick Factory' in Wageningen, new wooden frames were installed with BENGglas Double Coated. This vacuum glass has a double sun-blocking coating and an insulation value of U=0.40.
The painting work has also been renewed. This way, the building is well insulated, neatly finished, and ready for the future — while retaining its original appearance.
Layered vacuum glass for silence and warmth
In this house in Steenwijk, 27 panes of layered BENG glass have been installed – a significant step forward in both thermal and sound insulation. The applied vacuum glass has a U-value of 0.40, thanks to the vacuum between the two glass panes. This means that hardly any heat is lost, and sound is largely kept out as well. Normally, vacuum glass already offers a sound reduction of 36 dB, but in this case, a version with a layered counter pane was chosen. This raises the sound insulation to an impressive 39 dB – noticeably quieter, both during the day and at night.
Smart sustainability in Arnhem
In this detached house, the old single glazing (U=5.8) has been replaced by BENGglas vacuum glass. A significant upgrade, as the insulation value of the house has clearly improved. Since the glass is only 8.3 mm thin, it could be installed in the existing frames. This not only saves costs but also ensures that the original appearance of the house has been retained.
Stained glass remains, heat loss disappears
In this monumental building, a smart combination of preservation and innovation has been chosen: BENGglas is applied here as a secondary glazing for the existing stained glass.
This way, the authentic details remain fully visible, yet the house benefits from a significant insulation improvement. The original single glass (U = 5.8) has been replaced by vacuum glass with a U-value of 0.40 – that is almost ten times better insulating.
The impact is immediately noticeable in the energy consumption and in the energy label of the house. And all of this without affecting the character.
