This drawn monument glass provides those subtle distortions that make historic windows so unique. Want to preserve that authentic look when renovating? Then BENGglas Monu or BENGglas Monu Restover is your solution. This way you get the best of both worlds!

Would you rather not have a wavy surface for your monument?
Then choose BENGglas Extra Clear or BENGglas Single Coated! These types do not have a wavy surface but often fit into the existing window frames of monumental buildings. Always discuss the possibilities within your municipalities before making your choice.

In old monuments, you often find single- or old-fashioned double-glazing in the window frames. Do you want better insulation? Then you quickly think of HR++ or HR+++ glass. But that is thick glass, so you often have to replace your window frames. And that often means losing the character of your building. Or even worse: sometimes it is not allowed at all, because it falls under protected heritage. In short: preservation seems difficult.

BENG glass has the solution for monuments!
Monument glass from only 6.3 mm thick that almost always fits into existing window frames. And the insulation? It is much better: twice as good as triple glazing and even three times better than high-efficiency double glazing! Do you currently have single-glazing (U=5.8) or old double-glazing, also called Thermopane (U=2.8)? Then you are making a giant leap forward.

There are many types of monument glass where two sheets of glass are separated by a cavity filled with air or noble gas. BENG glass takes a different approach and uses a very high vacuum of only 0.3 mm.

Thanks to this vacuum, a insulation value is achieved that is up to two times better than that of triple glazing, while the glass thickness starts as low as 6.3 mm. This makes high-quality insulation possible without major modifications to existing window frames.

• Triple glazing: U=0.70 (36 mm)
• HR++ / high-efficiency double glazing: U=1.10 (21 mm)
• Monumental glass from other providers: from U=1.5 (14 mm)

✓Slightly warped monument glass (BENGglas Monu): applied to homes from the year 19230 to 1965, with a more subtle, slight curve.

✓ Modern monument glass (BENGlas Extra Clear or BENGglas Single Coated) - often has a flat appearance appropriate for properties from 1965 onwards

BENG glass Monu Restover combines authentic appearance of monument glass with maximum insulation - perfect for monumental properties where a strong corrugation in the glass is desired or required.

Be sure to note a few important points before you choose:

• More breakable: the extra monument counterpane is untoughened glass and therefore more sensitive than other BENG glass types.
• Thicker: at 12 mm thick, BENGglas Monu Restover does not always fit into existing window frames - so check this carefully. BENG glass Monu, BENG glass Extra Clear and BENG glass Single Coated are available from 8.3 mm thick and so the chances of these fitting into your window frame are a lot higher.
• Higher in price: due to the extra pane and special design, the price is higher than BENGglas Monu, BENGglas Single Coated or BENGglas Extra Clear.
• Heavier: BENGglas Monu Restover is heavier monument glass, which can lead to heavier (and more expensive) hardware.

Do you want top insulation, but wavy/drawn glass isn't necessary? Then BENGglas Extra Clear or BENGglas Single Coated are excellent alternatives.

Because BENG glass has an expected lifetime of up to 50 years, we offer a warranty that is twice as long as traditional insulating glass, up to 20 years.

Subsidies for homes

When you replace existing glazing with BENG glass, you are eligible for various schemes:

• € 25 per m² for replacing glass with BENG glass
  (Report code: KA18780)
• € 111 per m² when you also have new window frames installed
  (Report code: other)
• € 46 per m² for replacing glass in national monuments.

Extra advantage: if you combine the replacement of glass with a second insulation measure, such as roof, floor or wall insulation, then the subsidy amount is even doubled. So you get even more out of your investment.

Advantage for entrepreneurs

Companies can also save significantly. Do you want to make your business premises sustainable with vacuum glass? With the Energy Investment Allowance (EIA) you can count on a tax benefit of up to € 300 per m².

• the total investment is at least € 2,500
• the application must be submitted within three months after installation

With the EIA you as an entrepreneur benefit from a substantial financial windfall and a better insulated building.

The price of monument glass depends on the situation, but with BENG glass you can save in several ways. Vacuum glass is especially suitable for monumental buildings because it can often be installed without major modifications.

What determines the final price of monument glass?

The total investment depends on several factors:

• the total number of square meters
• the type of glass chosen
• Whether or not assembly is included

For larger areas, the price per square meter is often lower. If you choose installation or additional options, the investment can be higher.

The insulation value of monument glass varies greatly by type of glass. Whereas regular monument glass is usually filled with air or noble gas, BENG glass uses vacuum glass. There is a very high vacuum of only 0.3 mm between the glass sheets. Vacuum allows virtually no heat and sound to pass through, making the monument glass insulation value with BENG glass significantly better than traditional solutions.

Thanks to this technique, BENG glass achieves a very low insulation value even at a glass thickness of 8.3 mm. Depending on the version, the U-value of monument glass is between U=0.40 and U=0.50. This includes BENG glass Single Coated, Extra Clear, Monu and Monu Restover.

Looking for ultra-thin monument glass without waviness? Then BENG glass Single Coated 6.3 mm is a suitable choice. Despite the minimum glass thickness, a monument glass insulation value of U=0.50 is still achieved.
