The future of insulating glass is now

Three times better insulation - without replacing the frame

The introduction of vacuum glass marks a revolutionary step in the field of insulating glass. Where previously more glass layers and noble gas were required for better insulation, vacuum glass demonstrates that it can be done differently. With an ultra-thin vacuum cavity, you achieve an insulation value up to three times better than double glazing – in glass that is only 8.3 mm thick

With BENGglas, you choose:

  • Maximum insulation (up to U=0.35)– three times better than double glazing and twice as good as triple glazing
  • A lifespan of up to 50 years – almost twice as long as standard insulating glass
  • Installation in existing frames – saves material and prevents major renovation
  • 30% less material than triple glazing – lighter, more sustainable, and less transport needed
  • A direct contribution to sustainability – lower energy costs and a significant CO₂ reduction

An innovation that ranks among the most impactful, yet often underestimated solutions for the energy transition.

The technology behind vacuum glass

Vacuum glass consists of two glass panes, separated by tiny spacers. In between, there is a space with high vacuum, which results in minimal heat loss through conduction and convection. Add a heat-reflective coating to that, and heat radiation also has no chance. It sounds simple, but there is serious technology behind it. Each glass pane contains about 452 patents – and you can see that in the performance.

The spacers ensure that the pressure on the glass during the vacuum process is evenly distributed. At BENGglas, the number of spacers is small, and they are made in non-reflective anthracite. This way, they are hardly visible; even with a low sun.

Note: During the condensation season, a subtle 'dam' pattern may temporarily form around the spacers.

From patent to pioneer: the development of vacuum glass

A century of innovation, with BENGglas as the exclusive partner of LandVac

Vacuum glass was first described in a German patent from 1913. However, it wasn't until 1996 that the first commercial product hit the market. Since then, much has changed.

In 2016, after eight years of intensive research and testing, LandGlass launched LandVac®: the first fully tempered vacuum glass that independently meets the standards for safety glass without additional lamination. This marked the beginning of a series of innovations and international recognitions.

  • 2017: LandVac received various certifications from international agencies, including ISO9001, SGCC (USA), and UL, as the only vacuum glass in the world with this safety status.
  • 2020: Awarded the official China Green Product Certification – a recognition for environmentally friendly and healthy products.
  • 2024: Launch of a new generation of titanium vacuum glass with cylindrical tempering technology. With multiple patents, this represents a significant step forward in quality and performance.
  • In the same year, a new corporate identity and logo were also presented – a visual reflection of LandGlass's innovative and forward-looking direction.

BENGglas: exclusive LandVac partner in Europe
BENGglas was founded in 2020 as an initiative of Giga-Glas and is the only official importer of LandVac in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and various other European countries. Together, we bring the power of titanium vacuum glass to homes, monuments, and projects throughout Europe – maintaining appearance and maximizing energy performance.

The lower the U-value, the better the insulation

The insulation value of glass – expressed in a U-value – indicates how much heat a glass construction loses. The lower the U-value, the better the glass insulates.

Vacuum glass from BENGglas achieves a U-value of up to 0.35. This makes this vacuum glass more than twice as insulating as triple glazing (U=0.70) and almost three times as good as double glazing (U=1.10) – while being much thinner and fitting into existing frames.

An expected lifespan of up to 50 years

The expected lifespan of vacuum glass is 50 years – with retention of insulation value.
That is considerably longer than traditional insulating glass such as double or triple glazing, which usually lasts between 20 and 40 years. In addition, the insulation value often decreases due to gas leakage or contamination in the frame.

Vacuum glass is still relatively young, so how do we know it lasts that long?
Thanks to reliable laboratory tests. In special test setups, decades of weather, wind, and UV radiation are simulated. Based on that, we can confidently say: vacuum glass continues to perform for a long time – without compromising on insulation.

Up to 20 years warranty thanks to an unprecedented long lifespan

At BENGglas, we think ahead. Thanks to the expected lifespan of no less than 50 years, we offer you up to 20 years warranty— that's twice as long as with double or triple glazing.

Our warranty covers the free replacement of your BENGglas pane(s) if they lose their insulating function within the warranty period. This way, you can be sure you're well-covered for years.

A fair price is more than just the price per square meter

The price of vacuum glass is slightly higher than traditional insulating glass, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Because with BENGglas, you also save on:

  • new frames (which are often needed with triple glazing)
  • extra fittings and locks
  • your energy bill
  • and your energy label - which results in a higher home value. This often means the effective payback period is 0 years.

Additionally, there are attractive subsidies on vacuum glass, which in the Netherlands can be as high as €46 per m².

Our consumer advice price?
As a guideline, you can expect a price starting from €285 per m² (excluding VAT, transport, and installation).
The final costs depend on your specific situation: type of frame, glass choice (e.g., laminated or sun-protective), and any additional requests such as painting or finishing.

BENGglas is not ordinary glass – it is a revolutionary solution for sustainable and future-proof building. Compared to standard insulation glass, BENGglas offers unique advantages that directly improve both your home and the climate.

  • Superior insulation: with a U-value starting from 0.35 W/m²K, BENGglas is twice as effective as triple glazing (0.70) and even three times better than double glazing (1.10). This means significant energy savings and lower heating costs.
  • Long lifespan: while traditional glass lasts an average of 25 years, BENGglas lasts up to 50 years. Produce once, less CO₂, and half a century of benefits!
  • Sustainable and environmentally friendly: thanks to less material use (30% less glass than triple glazing), BENGglas saves thousands of tons of CO₂ annually. This way, you actively contribute to a cleaner planet.
  • Light and thin: at only 8.3 mm thick, BENGglas fits in almost any existing frame and allows for lighter hardware, making construction sustainable and efficient.
  • A true climate hero: if all of the Netherlands switches to BENGglas, we can save up to 4.1 megatons of CO₂ annually — that's equivalent to 170,000 car trips from Amsterdam to Paris! Moreover, the production of BENGglas alone results in 24,000 tons less CO₂ emissions per year.
  • A smart investment in the future: less energy consumption, less maintenance, and a longer lifespan make BENGglas a choice that benefits you for years – for yourself and for future generations.

In short: with BENGglas you choose maximum energy efficiency, sustainability, and a smart investment in the future. Make a difference, for your home and for our planet.

Why is BENGglas a smart investment?

Because you don't just buy glass, but a future-proof solution that really saves money and energy. BENGglas has an insulation value starting from 0.35 W/m²K — that's 2x better than triple glazing (0.70) and even 3x better than double glazing (1.1). Less heat loss immediately means lower heating costs. This also means a better energy label and therefore a higher property value. The effective payback period is often 0 years.

But that's not all. BENGglas lasts up to 50 years, while standard glass typically needs to be replaced after 25 years. Invest once, and you're set for two generations. That means less maintenance, less replacement, and thus lower total costs.

The environment also benefits: if the whole of the Netherlands switches to BENGglas, we save no less than 4.1 megatons of CO₂ annually — comparable to 170,000 car trips from Amsterdam to Paris. Less CO₂ emissions and a lower energy bill: that's what we call an investment that pays for itself.

In short: with BENGglas you invest in sustainability, comfort, and financial savings. Smart, right?

The enormous CO₂ benefit of a massive switch to BENGglas: this is what it really delivers!

If the whole of the Netherlands switches to BENGglas, we achieve a structural CO₂ saving of no less than 4.1 megatons per year — that is equivalent to 170,000 car trips from Amsterdam to Paris! In production alone, BENGglas saves more than 24,000 tons of CO₂ annually. For an average house, BENGglas means a saving of 1,800 kg CO₂ per year, which can amount to as much as 90,000 kg CO₂ per house over 50 years. This directly contributes to achieving our climate goals: it can realize more than 8% of the CO₂ reduction in the built environment by 2030 and helps the Netherlands become climate neutral by 2050. It is not just glass, it is a revolution in sustainable building.

Why is BENGglas the game changer that helps solve the climate crisis?

The climate crisis calls for radically different solutions. Yet the biggest energy leak in buildings often remains invisible: the glass. BENGglas is not just insulation glass, but a groundbreaking technology with a U-value starting from 0.35 W/m²K — almost twice as good as triple glazing (0.70) and three times better than HR++ (1.10). Moreover, BENGglas lasts an average of 50 years, twice as long as traditional glass, and is produced with 30% less material compared to HR+++ glass.

That concretely means:

  • Only one production cycle every 50 years, with 50% less raw materials and transport
  • Structurally 50% less CO₂ emissions during production
  • Up to 30% less glass volume and lighter weight, saving building materials and installation time
  • Suitable for any existing frame thanks to the revolutionary thickness of just 8.3 mm

BENGglas combines enormous energy savings with a drastic reduction in environmental impact — an innovation that is not only smarter but also indispensable in the energy transition.

What is the lifespan of BENGglas?

BENGglas not only lasts longer than traditional insulating glass, it also continues to perform as if it were just installed. While the U-value (insulation value) of standard insulating glass decreases after a few years, it remains stable with BENGglas – for years.

How do we know that? In the lab, the conditions of 25 years of use are simulated. Afterwards, the U-value was found to be exactly the same. That’s why we confidently guarantee a lifespan of 25 years. The expected lifespan? No less than 50 years.

And with a warranty of up to 20 years, you are well above the standard with BENGglas — that is 10 years more than what is common in the glass industry.
