Making BENGglas additional windows more sustainable in The Hague
In collaboration with Koek & Reinders Schilderwerken, BENG glass has been used as an additional window!
By using this vacuum glass pane as a secondary window, the authentic features of the stained glass are retained, but you do benefit from optimal insulation.
In this monumental building, the poorly insulating single glazing (U=5.8) has been replaced by the extremely insulating BENG glass BASIC (U=0.58). This means the windows have improved their insulation by a factor of 10 and residents will see this reflected in their gas consumption. This has also resulted in a significantly more favorable energy label.
