Front window BENGglas BASIC
In collaboration with Koek & Reinders Schilderwerken BENGglas has been used here for the preservation and renovation of the Public Primary School known from the film 'Ciske de Rat'.
In this case, the existing single glass (U=5.8) has been replaced by vacuum glass from the BENGglas brand. The choice fell on the type ' BENGglas ' with a U-value of 0.40. This has led to a significant improvement in the insulation value of the glass, which is 14 times better. This not only achieves a better energy label, but will also save on the gas bill.
Due to the small thickness of BENGglas (8.3 mm), the insulating glass could be installed effortlessly in the existing frames. As a result, the characteristic appearance has been preserved and it has not been necessary to replace the window frames.
An additional advantage of the vacuum insulating glass is the fantastic sound insulation. In the standard variant of 8.3 mm thickness, the sound reduction is 36 dB. If a layered version of the BENGglas were chosen, this attenuation would increase to no less than 39 dB.
